If you are reading this page, it is very probably because you were examining the logs for your web browser and noticed that some resources were fetched by HailFrom.
The sole purpose of this bot is to fetch (using conditional get) files that
contain cidr data for various services so that user-agents claiming to be from
these services can be verified. There are too many nefarious user agents
running amoke so the data retrieved by this bot is used by an experimental gate
to perform ident, friend or foe (IFF) on some web services that I
operate. User agents identified as foe receive a 403
response; when recidivious, their connection attempts are refused because they
are assigned to purgatory by firewalld.
