desc: What is the human known online as omz13 doing now-ish?

# what am I, the person behind all this, doing now(-ish)[^now]

life
:	I live in TZ=Europe/Brussels.

:	Being the proud father of twin children, most of my time is occupied doing my best to keep them alive while they do their best to kill me. One day I will get 9 hours continuous sleep.

art
:	Prototyping a new series of generative art; doing things with a dot matrix printer for a retro-authentic feel.

code
:	Developing [Imoxia™](https://www.imoxia.com), my web identity/blog/social platform. Somebody was very snarky and dismissive about it because it is currently only used by one(-ish) person (me). Who says a platform can't be for one person? Why does everything have to be about taking over the world? Ironically, that snarky person developed their own platform which is used by exactly one person too![^glasshouses]

listening
:	I am always listening to music. Recently I have dipped my ears into opera (_Il Barbiere Di Sivigila_ is wonderful, particularly Callas/Gobbi). Otherwise, its my usual choice of Tangerine Dream, Yello, Can, Agitation Free, et al.

reading
:	I don't read as much for pleasure as I used to: q.v. [_life_](#life). The last book that I read was [_Berserker_](https://www.panmacmillan.com/authors/adrian-edmondson/berserker/9781035014316) (2024) by Adrian Edmondson. I am currently reading the [_Greek Myths_](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mythos_(book)) series by Stephen Fry (which should keep me busy until the end of 2025, if not longer).

website
:	My website is my most public expression. It is a hybrid intersectional space where my art and code collide. Yes, it has a unique aesthetic style. But don't let the "retro" vibe distract from the fact that it's fully accessible, performant as heck, and as resource efficient as you can get; this is big-league stuff, apparently. It is powered by my own code stack: anything above the tcp/ip is my domain. Apart from being a bit of fun, and despite a retro-vibe aesthetic, it's pushing the envelope so far it's at the frontier; this was not my intention, but its where my intent ended up, thanks to a pursuit of a quality system fuelled by a little spite.

writing
:	Many of the wise things that I say are noted in my private journal (because, despite what especially the millennials and quite a few others may think, public is not a sensible default). Occasionally, things get curated and made available public on this website or my gemlog.

[^glasshouses]: As the proverb goes: "People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones". If you are going to throw some criticism in my direction, don't be surprised if it gets thrown right back at you; I despise hypocrites.

[^gavin]: Its a phrase from [_Gavin & Stacey_](https://youtu.be/jmdl4mt_p0c?feature=shared).

[^now]: The concept behind a "/now" page comes from [What is a “now page”?](https://nownownow.com/about): to inform the reader about what the author is focused on at this point in their life.
